Advantages of Modular Homes

Lower costs
Modular homes are less expensive than site builts (though they might be a bit more costly than HUD Mfg homes), making them affordable for more people.

Easy to install
Placing modular homes is quick and efficient, letting you move in soon after your new home is ready.

Durable
Modular homes, even with all their other advantages, are still similarly durable as site-built houses. To add to that, they are even more resilient than traditional homes, making them much safer for areas where natural disasters are more likely.

Sustainable

When building a modular home, less material waste is produced than during a standard construction, meaning that it's more friendly for the environment and your pocket (less material waste = less materials needed + quicker clean up).

You can finance them with conventional means

Unlike HUD Mfg homes, modular houses can be financed through conventional means. Bear in mind, though, that the process might involve a few additional steps when compared to site-built homes.

Quality

Modular homes are factory-controlled, meaning that the whole construction is highly vetted before being installed. This pays off in high quality that you can be sure of.

Safer construction

Less disturbance and safer construction are what define modular homes – building a house like that can even help you stay on good terms with your neighbors.

Applications of Modular Homes

Emergency housing
Modular homes can be quickly built in the event of a natural catastrophe or other emergency circumstance to offer temporary shelter for people who have been evicted from their homes.

Student housing
Modular houses can be used to construct student housing on college or university campuses.

Military housing
Modular houses can be used to construct military housing on military bases.

Industrial buildings
Modular houses can be used to construct industrial buildings, such as warehouses or factories. The modular construction process can be particularly advantageous for industrial buildings because it allows for faster construction times and more efficient use of materials. Modular construction allows for a high degree of flexibility in design, so industrial buildings can be customized to meet the specific needs of the project.

Primary residence

Similar to conventionally built homes, modular houses can serve as the primary residence. They can accommodate families of all sizes because they come in a variety of sizes and designs.

Vacation home

Modular buildings are very popular as holiday homes. These can be created and tailored to blend in with the surroundings of the vacation spot, whether it is by a lake, in the mountains, or close to a beach.

Home office or studio

Modular homes can be modified to be used as a home office or studio. They can be designed to meet the user's individual requirements, such as additional soundproofing, insulation, or storage space.

Multi-unit buildings

Apartments, condos, and town homes are examples of multi-unit buildings that can be built using modular housing. They are perfect for use in high-density locations since they are quick and efficient to construct.

Examples of Modular Homes

Mobile offices
These facilities offer a mobile workstation with standard office services, such as utilities and electricity. They are very adaptable, which is advantageous for businesses whose office operations are temporary. They can also aid in lowering the company's overhead costs. For independent workers and contractors, mobile offices are perfect.

Portable offices
Portable offices are easily transportable structures that May be moved using a forklift or vehicle. They May be easily disassembled and used for temporary space requirements at events, building sites, and festivals.

Prefabricated booths
Prefabricated booths are compact, adaptable buildings with off-site manufactured walls and roofing that are constructed on-site. They have numerous design options and can have amenities like internet, sinks, and hvac. Both temporary and permanent installations are appropriate for them.

Prefabricated shelters
Prefabricated shelters provide a safe and cozy way to design outdoor areas that offer defense against a variety of environmental factors like bad weather, pollution, trash, and rain. These shelters can be built to exact specifications due to their high degree of customization.

Prefabricated garages
Prefabricated garages are modular constructions with multiple car capacity and automatic doors that are used to store vehicles. They provide less expensive and time-consuming alternatives to building a permanent garage.

Modular Home Timeline

Get pre-approval and set a budget
During the pre-approval process, you will set a budget that will determine the rest of the building experience. This budget will help you make all of the decisions in steps 2-4.

Prepare the lot
If you already have a lot, you'll need to get all the required land tests and site inspections. If you don't have a lot, your builder can help you find a suitable plot of land.

Design your dream home
Your builder's engineering department will work with you to design the home you've been dreaming of within the budget you have available. You'll be able to make all kinds of customizations and decisions before the plans go to a third party engineer for a double-check and approval. Once you've reviewed the final plans, you sign off on the design so that building can get started.

Start building
Your loan financing will be secured through the lending institution of your choice, and once everything is set up, construction can begin immediately! The building process of a modular home typically takes 30-120 days from setting to occupancy. First, the bulk of the construction work is completed off-site, in the factory. Next, the home is shipped to your lot in specially-designed carriers. It arrives 70-90% complete.

While your home is being completed, the initial site work gets underway, with everything from clearing the lot and digging the septic system to laying a foundation and grounding the electrical system. After the home arrives, it is set onto the foundation, and construction continues with mechanical installation and finishing touches. The last step is getting the whole structure inspected.

Schedule a final walk-through and move in
Once the home is inspected, it will be ready for you to do a walk-through and officially move in! You'll be occupying your new home in what feels like no time.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between a modular home and a traditional site-built home?

A: A modular home is constructed in sections within a factory-controlled environment. This allows for more precise building, better quality control, and protection from weather-related delays. In contrast, traditional site-built homes are constructed entirely on-site. Modular homes are then transported to the site and assembled. They must meet the same building codes and standards as site-built homes and often offer similar design flexibility.

Q: Can modular homes be customized?

A: Absolutely. We offer a wide range of customization options. Customers can choose from various floor plans, select different exterior finishes, interior fixtures, and even modify room layouts. Our design team works closely with clients to bring their unique vision to life, ensuring that each modular home is tailored to individual needs and preferences.

Q: How long does it take to build a modular home?

A: The construction time in the factory usually ranges from a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the complexity and size of the home. Once the modules are completed, the on-site assembly and finishing work typically take an additional one to two weeks. Overall, the process is often faster than traditional site building, saving customers time and reducing the potential for cost overruns due to delays.

Q: What kind of transportation and installation is involved?

A: The completed modules are transported to the building site using specialized trucks. Our experienced crews then use cranes to carefully lift and position the modules onto the prepared foundation. We ensure that all connections between the modules are properly sealed and integrated, and final on-site work such as connecting utilities and completing exterior details is carried out with precision and care.

Q: Are modular homes energy-efficient?

A: Yes. Modular homes are designed with energy efficiency in mind. The factory construction process allows for tighter seals and better insulation installation. We use high-quality insulation materials and energy-efficient windows and doors. Additionally, modern modular home designs often incorporate energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, resulting in lower energy consumption and utility bills for homeowners.

Q: What is the durability of a modular home?

A: Modular homes are built to last. The factory-built construction uses high-strength materials and advanced building techniques. The structural components are engineered to withstand transportation and long-term use. With proper maintenance, a modular home can have a lifespan comparable to a traditional site-built home, often exceeding 50 years or more.

Q: What kind of warranty and after-sales service do you provide?

A: We offer a comprehensive warranty that covers the structural integrity and major components of the modular home for a specific period, usually several years. In addition to the warranty, our after-sales service team is available to address any concerns or issues that homeowners may have. We can provide assistance with maintenance, repairs, and even modifications in the future, ensuring that our customers have a satisfying and worry-free experience with their modular homes.

As one of the leading modular homes manufacturers and suppliers in China, we warmly welcome you to wholesale cheap modular homes from our factory. All custom made products are with high quality and competitive price.
